So, this morning I got up (and not hungover at all, no way. We six people certainly did not finish 10 bottles of wine last night) and decided to experiment with a new lens. This is an enormous lens that my mom bought to take pictures of my sister playing volleyball. It just looks comical on my small D60 and the auto-focus doesn't work, so it really isn't workable for me for anything other than still-lifes. But I love the aperture and mounted on a tripod, the pictures turned out excellent. I gathered all my flower arrangements and just snapped away. Here are the ones I've played with, but with all the pictures I took - I've got editing fodder for weeks.
This one might be my favorite. I'm debating getting a wrapped canvas done in this print. I just need to figure out where to hang it in my house.
Some of the flowers in the arrangements looked like they might have been leftover from Valentine's Day. I didn't care because I loved the scalloped edges from the spray roses.
I didn't buy this arrangement, these roses are actually what my husband surprised me with on Valentine's Day. Almost a week later and no signs of wear and tear. Color me impressed!
I liked this little flower the most in terms of photograph-ability. This is one of three.
Image number two.
Who knew that an entire afternoon of fun could be had with leftover flowers?
