Beef-a-palooza

The Husband (whose name from henceforth will be shortened to "TH" because, let's face it, I'm too lazy to type "The Husband" every time I talk about him) and I are having four friends over for dinner on Saturday. While we were at Costco on Saturday, we decided to buy a whole beef tenderloin to roast for dinner that night. It didn't look so big when we picked it out, surrounded by other enormous cuts of meat. In fact, we even grabbed one of the smaller pieces.

mmm....beef.
(Not our tenderloin, ours is bigger. Photo taken from here).

When we cook steak, we like to age it in the fridge up to week. That time in the fridge and allowing the moisture to evaporate concentrates the flavor so much. So last night I unwrapped the tenderloin and prepared it to age. And I realized....this thing is enormous. Like, Flintstones-brontosaurus bone huge. I can't wait to weigh it before I cook it on Saturday. Until then, I will be chuckling to myself every time I open my fridge and see the entire shelf devoted to a large chunk of meat.

....that's what she said.
