A Dog's Life

I think every pet owner occasionally wishes that they have a hidden video camera to watch their pets and see what they do during the day.  I have a feeling I know exactly what my dogs do during the day:

I think if you look up "lazy" in the dictionary, I think this is the picture that you will see. I'm so jealous of the lives of my dogs. Note that the knee/leg in the picture above is not my knee and leg. I may like organic food, but I do own a razor and believe in its use. And I'd never let myself get that pale. (Jergen's Daily Glow - holla!)

Before I took this picture, I had spent 10 minutes walking around my house looking for the dog. He's like a ninja when he sleeps (more on this later).  Please ignore the husband's laundry on the ottoman. And the wadded up blanket on the couch. And the lonely dog toy in the background. And the throw pillow askew on the couch. Seriously, just look at the doggie and ignore everything else.

More proof that my dog is a sleeping ninja. This past weekend it was pretty chilly in the house and the dog hunkered down so that one of my pillows was draped across him.  I had to call his name about 10 times before he finally picked his head up.  I couldn't even see him before that because his head was under those two blue pillows. (And ignore the stuffed animal and the dirty water glass on my...I mean the husband's....nightstand. I don't know why the stuffed animal felt the need to spread his legs, but it's disconcerting) (Almost as disconcerting as anthropomorpholizing a stuffed animal? Almost.) (Yes, that's a word).

So, I have a feeling that if I taped my dogs while I was at work during the day, it would be pretty boring. My dogs prove one of Newton's laws: objects at rest remain at rest.

All photos courtesy of my iPhone 3Gs and they're unretouched. It hurts a little to not edit them, but I need to step away and experiment with SOOC (straight off of camera).
