Wooo, it's been a while since I posted. Work has been cuh-ray-zee and this past weekend I was booked to the brim because I was in a good friend's wedding. The wedding was outside. In Texas. In June. You can draw your own conclusion about what the weather was like (but if you guessed "Hotter than 97 degrees and humid," you'd be right!).
In spite of the weather, the wedding was beautiful. This was partly because the couple getting married are just perfect for each other and also because it was just very well done. I didn't take any photos because my friend has a professional and I didn't want to step on any toes.
But, I do have some crazy outdated pictures to share. These are from our Memorial Day celebration at my parent's house. Yeah, I know. Dated.
A full line up of the drink options. You have to have variety for pool drinks. The two on the right are TH's and mine - sweet tea vodka and lemonade. It's an alcoholic Arnold Palmer. If you haven't tried sweet tea vodka, you should. It's like sipping summer. I'm partial to Deep Eddy Sweet Tea vodka, but TH prefers Firefly. We're a house divided.
Straws. Festive!
The spread for the hamburgers and hot dogs.
Nothing says "summer" quite like bright red tomatoes. It's my one solace for this horrible season.
That's right - I hate summer. Hot, no football, utilities are more expensive, the sun doesn't set until 9 so it stays hotter longer, etc. My favorite day of the year is the first day that the summer heat breaks in Texas and we can fill a chill in the air ("chill" is defined by "less than 80 degrees"). Is it October yet?
And my mom's patriotic flower arrangement.
