Moving along, it's officially spring in Texas. It was supposed to reach 90 today, so it looks like we're steaming right past spring in to summer. Unfortunately, we haven't had any good storms recently. I love falling asleep and waking up to thunderstorms. Of course, I usually get more than I bargained for when the tornado sirens start going off and I'm huddled in the powder bathroom with my two dogs (This has happened twice in this house. Once I thought we might actually lose our roof because the storm was so bad and the winds were so strong). But spring is my second favorite season in Texas, right behind fall. And there's something so happy about all the plants, trees, and flowers blooming and no clouds in the sky that just puts me in a good mood.
I came across the field of bluebonnets by my house today and took about 5 million pictures. Here are the ones that I've edited so far:
Well, hello there little guy!
Not pictured: TH standing very impatiently behind me, with both dogs on their leashes, because we were walking the dogs when I saw these.
Yes, I did walk the dogs with my camera. Doesn't everyone?
I think what makes bluebonnets my favorite flower (other than being the official flower of Texas, obvi), is the little pink dot that so many of the petals have.
These flowers went on forever through this field.
Made it a little hazy for artistic effect.
Blue and yellow - favorite combo!
